Andres is International Manager at the Association of Town Centre Management (www.atcm.org), editor-in-chief of the Journal of Town and City Management (http://www.henrystewart.com/jtcm) and Senior Research Fellow at the University of East London.
Following seven years in industry, including various international management appointments in the extractive industries sector (Shell International, Anglo American plc), he spent eight years in academia as Senior Lecturer and Course Director with teaching and transnational project research responsibilities in town centre management, city marketing and branding, event evaluation, international models of place management, urban revitalisation and retail management. Over the last ten years, he has co-authored successful funding bids for European Union programmes (European Social Fund (ESF-EQUAL), Leonardo programme, ERDF, European Culture Programme (2007-2013), INTERREG IIIC and INTERREG IVC) with a combined worth over 6 million euros. Andres has also managed transnational projects with partners in Spain, Sweden, Austria, Italy, France, Finland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Greece, Belgium, Bulgaria, Romania, Poland and Ireland.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Fellow of the Institute of Place Management and a Member of the Academy of Marketing. Andres is also a member of the editorial advisory board of the Journal of Place Management and Development and has reviewed papers for a number of international conferences. He has published internationally in a number of practitioner and academic journals and advised retail trade associations, public-private city management partnerships and local authorities in the UK, Spain and Poland.
Andres speaks Spanish, Polish and English fluently and holds a B.Eng (Hons) degree from the University of Nottingham, and two MSc degrees from Imperial College and Manchester Metropolitan University.
